The Challenge

Rebecca is a solo REALTOR® with ERA Real Solutions Realty covering five rural counties in Southern Ohio. At baseline she was invisible: zero appearances across 11 non-branded queries on 4 search engines, one buried directory listing that attached the wrong brokerage, no analytics, and a Google Business Profile stuck in verification.

People who relocate for work research online for months before contacting an agent. Every engine answered those relocation queries with agents from Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus. Nobody local owned the corridor, and she was never going to outrank Zillow for "realtor near me."

She was also burned out on social media, so the strategy had to work through search and AI answers instead of daily posting.

What is actually landing in her counties

On 2026-03-20 the federal government, SB Energy, and AEP Ohio announced a 9.2 GW natural gas plant and 10 GW data center at the Portsmouth site in Piketon, Pike County: $33.3 billion for generation plus $4.2 billion in transmission, 4,000 construction jobs in phase one and up to 35,000 at full build, 2,500 operating jobs. The same site carries a $900 million Centrus enrichment contract and a planned nuclear campus. Ross County followed in July with a $1.5 billion manufacturing site at the former paper mill. Every one of those workers relocating researches online first.

Announced at the Portsmouth site $37.5B Pike County, March 2026. $33.3B generation plus $4.2B transmission. Public, named.

Field Note

Why an AI recommendation is worth more than a ranking

Sixty-seven percent of first-time buyers and 76% of repeat buyers interview only one agent. Whoever gets named first, gets the call. On Google, 68% of searches now end without a click; the answer is the result. Being the agent Google's AI names for "relocate to Southern Ohio for work" is not a ranking. It is the shortlist.

The Solution

The baseline audit flagged the relocation corridor as open whitespace, so the work targeted it deliberately: three cornerstone pages aimed at the queries relocating buyers actually ask (Pike County, Scioto County, and a Relocating to Southern Ohio guide), on-page SEO rebuilt across her four core pages, and her Home and About pages rewritten.

The Business Profile block was root-caused to an address-visibility setting that was failing Google's storefront checklist, where the naive fix would have published her home address. The corrected setup won Google approval, with the category fixed from real estate agency to real estate agent so Search could surface her as an agent rather than a storefront.

Everything shipped on Squarespace Personal tier, with no code injection and no schema markup, and inside brokerage compliance: Fair Housing and MLS logos on every asset, with ERA branding more prominent than her own.

Field Note

The evidence, exactly

On 2026-08-07, in an incognito window signed out of any Google account, the query "who is a good realtor to help me relocate to Southern Ohio for work" returned a Google AI answer that segments Ohio by region and, for the Deep South and rural counties (Pike, Scioto, Adams, Ross), says: "Look into Rebecca DeLawder with ERA Real Solutions Realty. She is a certified Military Relocation Professional who specializes in remote transactions for these specific counties, utilizing virtual walkthroughs and video tours for out-of-state buyers." The recommendation links to gettingohiohome.com.

Field Note

What we do not claim

AI answers vary between runs, so this capture proves the recommendation happened, not that it appears every time. Classic organic rank for the query was not measured. Two tracked queries, Piketon and Scioto County, have not moved yet. No lead, revenue, or closing numbers are claimed, and visibility on other AI engines has not been re-measured since baseline.
